Brooke Shields 'Education help me survive showbiz'

Brooke Shields says the time she spent hitting the books at Princeton University gave her the skills to survive the tribulations of show-business.
“My education enabled me to survive this industry one that predicates itself on eating its young,” said Shields, who’s set to show off her shocking lack of acting ability on Broadway later this month.
“Or when George Michael tells you he doesn’t want to date you because he wants to focus on his solo career then you find out he’s gay.”
Brooke who was good in Lipstick Jungle, which sadly got canceled recently insisted she won’t let her children act until they are older.
The 45-year-old actress shot to fame aged just 12 playing a child prostitute in Pretty Baby but doesn’t want her daughters Rowan, seven, and Grier, four, to follow in her footsteps because she isn’t prepared to sacrifice her own career.
“I would never start them as young as I did. For a start, my life isn’t conducive to that. Selfishly, I wouldn’t give up on my career to work on theirs,” she said.
However, Brooke will support her daughters whose father is her screenwriter husband Chris Henchy, 46 if they want to embark on an acting career once they have finished school.
“If, when they have finished their education, they want to do it, I will do whatever I can to help them,” she said.
